Great News! Calendar is all ready marked,  I plan to be there, please advise when the hotel is ID'ed.
The Stooges always seem to do a great job!
Is it still scheduled in the ORP area?

I wish I could be there with the Magnette.

One year I shall have to spend the entire summer in the U.S just travelling around sightseeing...setting my agenda by all of the different shows. I could think of no better way to spend six months.

Too far out for me to say 'yes' at this point But, its close enough that maybe Jennifer (the REAL Boss) would say yes?? Still trying to see if we can make the BMTA meet in February. (Thats further yet!)

p.s. Please dear? ;-)

Rick, you already know that I'm coming. Got it on my calendar as soon as you got the date confirmed.

Ian,
Shipping your Magnette over from Milton Keynes can be done - fellow Brit, Dave Tetlow (also from Milton Keynes) brought his 3.5L Rover conversion over here in 2008, got married and had a blast touring the country and attending British V8 in Wisconsin.
We'll even buy you the first pint of Bass.......

Hotel?   We were supposed to contract with a hotel?

You guys will like the hotel.....and the rates.

mowog1

We did another site visit to Indy today....and have pretty much firmed up a couple of the activities. You WILL enjoy them! I'll let the cat out of the bag after contracts have been signed!

Save the date - Arrivals in Indy on Wednesday, July 7th; activities Thursday-Friday-and Saturday; departures on Sunday!

You know I'll be there. Two hour drive won't even be a road trip from here.I'll miss the 8 hour thrash to get home! Last year I left my top boot at a gas stop in KY.Darn, had to get a new Stayfast one.  Rob,can't wait to see your car!

July?  For some reason I had it in my head it was early June. This will work better as Piper wants to play basball one more year with the boys. The season ending tournament will be over before July.

Thanks for the info Rob, I put in my vacation request today. I can't wait to meet this group. It's going to be a great time and it's right in my back yard.

Nice photo of the 74 Spitfire. Can someone show me where the HIWD article is for this car? I can't find it.

5 minutes later......
I just found this in the "introduce section":

Guess I'll have to wait for more info.

Here you go Ken,

Did a search in the google box.

I wonder why it isn't listed in the Spitfire section?

Yes, George and I have marked it on our calendar.  Bill G. and other notables can vouch for George's credentials.  Plan to book the room as soon and the Hotel name is released.  See you on Wed. pm for Happy Hour!

Kelly, Indianapolis is known for their "curb service" opportunities!!! Look forward to seeing everyone!

kstevusa

DAMN, you got me!!!   you get the 7-ups and I'll share the Dickel at a neutral location,  how's that for a compromise?   maybe even a little Moosehead will show up.

British V8 2010 will indeed be held on the west side of Indianapolis from July 8-10 (Thursday through Saturday). I would recommend arriving on Wednesday and departing on Sunday.

We will have activities beginning Thursday morning....we are waiting on a contract from O'Reilly Raceway Park (formerly IRP) for the road course and will also have an autocross at this location in the afternoon. Contracts are also pending for indoor go-kart racing (gas carts with good building ventilation), a visit to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (garages, track(s), Gasoline Alley, and the museum), and a possible visit to Andretti-Green corporate offices and shoppe. Tech sessions and conversion comaradarie is a given.

We've got a British pub lined up for dinner one evening, and of course we will have an event banquet and auction on Saturday evening at the host hotel.

The hotel we've contracted with has given us a GREAT rate and is conveniently located to I-465 as well as ORP (IRP).

We hope to have a registration form available within the next few weeks (we have to SEE the contracts first!) and will advise accordingly.

British V8 2010 is NOT a car show; we have no awards, etc. It is a gathering of enthusiasts to have some fun; to be able to put their cars into some spirited, safe driving, in a controlled environment; to met up with old friends and gain some new friends.

British V8 is open to anyone with a V6/V8/converted British car...to anyone interested in doing a conversion....and we've even had a few non-British conversions attend in the past!

For a history of the MGV8/British V8 meets, visit [www.britishv8.org]

"British V8 2010 - Converting Indy!"

Hope to see you there!

Mike, you've used up all that "curb service" after last year when you had two of us waiting on you down in the parking lot. I'll be there with the "Irish" as well. Kelly, I'll even try a sip of the Dickel as well. See you there!

RMO 699F

Well dam Bill, I really had a good thing going with that curb service...looks like you and Kelly figured me out on this one...well,  the truth can now be revealed...I will drink the Dickel and the Irish anytime and any place...on a curb, street or in the sanctity of a motel room..i guess you could say "I'm easy"
cheers!

mowog1

"I'm easy;"

I'll remember that at the auction this July.

:)
