Hi helpers. I'm fitting a 5.0 and t5 in my 70 tr6. Please see the attachments. Any advice on fitting the filter and steering shaft would be very helpful.

Couple of pics of how I did mine.
Remote filter on Driver's side of the engine bay
Steering shaft links from OEM column to OEM rack in the original location
3 heim joints and two heavy gussets through the inner fender wall to keep everything rock solid.
It looks like something that would feel a bit wrong, but I honestly can't feel any change from before.
If you blow the pic up you can see how close it comes to the valve cover on driver's side.  I ground  almost 3/16" off the corner of the aluminum valve cover to be sure it would stay clear - has never touched.

Looks great. If possible could you give me your engine height and distance back?  I'm about ready to pull my mock up out and start engine assembly. I'll include a photo or 2.

Did you keep the front crossmember?

From the pics, your engine is further fwd than mine.  I pushed the 302 as far back as possible to avoid having to change steering mounts.  As for height, I have about 3/8" between the air filter and the hood.  I made mounts similar to Dan Masters to get it as low as possible. I have attached a couple shots for comparison.
