Hey guys, I'm planning on putting a ford t5 behind my rover engine and I have the buick 3 speed bell housing and need to get the adapter plate. I do not want to use a hydraulic throw out bearing as almost everyone here seems to use, I want an external slave set up. How is it set up? What fork do I need? I do not have the one that goes with the buick bell housing...anyone have one for sale? What are the options and do I need to change the stock pivot bolt? I have the ford fork but I'm guessing that is of no use in this case? Any info is appreciated.

Randy the 215 fork can be used for a aftermarket slave. Bracket mounted to trans or bellhousing. Or you could use the Ford cable type with aftermarket Summit pivot mounted on other side.

If I were to use the 215 fork that's the same as the tr7/8 fork, correct? Would I keep the stock pivot boot for the 3 speed bell housing?

Randy, I don't think the 215 fork is the same as the TR8. Don't know if it will work or not. Our moderator Curtis has a 215 with external slave setup. Curtis's setup towards the bottom of page:

Thanks. Basically what was the application of the 215 fork? Been searching ebay but I'm not even sure exactly what it looks like. Better yet, if anyone has one for sale? I'd like to avoid a HTOB

Randy, You could copy this S-10 setup with pivot on other side. Very similar to what the Ford guys do:

Jim, that's great, that's exactly the type of thing I've been looking for! This is on a v6 bell housing, would that fork work on a 3 speed bell? Any more info on this mod? Thanks!

Randy, You need to copy the location of the pivot stud(Summit adjustable) and use the S-10 arm shown and Ford T5 throwout bearing for your Ford T5.

Jim,, sorry for all the questions....I am missing it somehow, where is the stud located? I'm sure it's right in front of my face.....thanks a bunch Jim

Randy, Upper left hand of picture, right above trans mount bolt. Where the dimple is, bottom right dimple is where slave cylinder pushrod is. You may have to Tig a pad for the stud to thread into.
