Home base will be at the Talley Ho Inn, as always.

Sometimes we have a cookout, sometimes a small group will go hiking, always a drive or two or three.

Like Dan Blackwood sez,  "For anyone not familiar, the Townsend Fall Gathering is a casual event. No registration, no car show, lots of hanging out in the parking lot, exploring the Smokies and just having a good time with car people!"

It's here, so saddle up & head to Townsend for the Great Fall Gathering!

I plan to swing by & pick up Dan Masters on the way thru Maryville.  Hopefully, he can hang out for an hour or so before I take him back home.  He is looking forward to visiting with everyone.

Had a good visit with Dan, and the rest of the meet weren't so shabby either.

It was great to see you guys again - it had been a long time. Wish I could have stayed for the whole weekend but, alas, it's not in the cards.

Many thanks to Carl for bringing me out. Maybe I can do it again next year!

I was happy to do it, Dan. I sure hope we can do it again next year.

We have all missed your presence.  Heck, I have been missing you participating 3 times a years (Springtime in the Smokies British car show, annual British V8 meet, & the annual Fall Gathering).

We missed having Kelly & Sandy, as well.

For those that do not know, Dan Masters started this annual Fall Gathering in Townsend back in 2008.  He told me that he had no idea that it would still be happening every year. Well, it is all because of you long distance travelers that show up to enjoy the roads & camaraderie.

Here it is:

2024 Towensend event(s)?

I have a 1972 MGB Roadster I would like to convert to V8 or V6.

I live in Maryville TN.

Hi Forrest.

Do you know about the Blount British Cars?  They host a British & Euro car show called "Springtime in the Smokies" every May in Townsend at the Talley Ho Inn.

The British V8 enthusiasts will be back in Townsend again the first weekend in October for our annual Fall Gathering.

A worthy quest Forrest. Here is a thread for you to read, in it you will find much good information and guidance:

Your '72 will take a little more work to convert than the later cars but they come out very nice. Mine is a '71. I feel the absolute best engine for this car is the Buick 300 which you may not have considered but the time to begin a search for one is now. I expect we will see you in the fall.
