Three-point-four-litre as test fit with new motor mounts and the welded mounts on the chassis the originals moved to a location perfect for the V6 conversion.

MGA front disc brakes and disc wheel hubs (those are not easy to find anymore)
2WD S10 axle = if memory serves, this is about 1/2 inch wider than the Magnette axle

3.4L L32 SFI engine

Now before anyone says the Magnette is not a sportscar, this was the MG and this was the sports version of the Wolseley body (Heavily Modified and lowered to become a proper MG sports-saloon) with an Austin engine. If anyone wants to say we are removing the "MG" engine to install a "GM" engine, they are wrong. We are removing the "AUSTIN" engine to replace it with a "GM" engine. That said, maybe it is closer to correct for MG?

I guess I have alway started on old cars, when they were a lot newer than this Magnette. Your repairs look great.

My first old car  was a 1929 Model A Ford Sports Coupe, my twin brother and I bought in far South Texas in 1955.

By the time we finished high school in 1958, it had a flathead Ford, hydraulic brakes, and we rewired it (roll of wire and a soldering iron).

I think you all already know that I am mechanical engineer.

The 1977 MGB I plan on putting the 3.4L V6 in had a 1/2 diameter hole in the dog leg when I bought it in 1985.

Now, it has just been repainted (stripped, smoothed, and urethane color and clear coat) after a $4000 deer hit.

No engine, waiting for me to get stuff together for Bill to do the engine. I just moved to my daughter's house in Ventura. My wife of 52 years is in assisted living in Camarillo. She is well enough to go for at least one more ride after the engine is installed.

No matter what anyone says, that's a cool car, made even cooler by what you're doing. That would well up on my list of desired cars.

I'd forgotten that Magnette came with telescoping shocks, both front and rear.
