I am trying to find 17x8 4x100 wheels with a positive offset greater than 40mm, but am having a difficult time.  I've tried the obvious vendors and eBay, but I don't care for the spindly-spoke design of the few I've found.

I like the Rota Grid and the Rota RB.

I think the ESM 004 and the XXR 531 are OK.

I think the Motegi 116 spokes are a tad too thin.

Does anybody know of a wheel that can be acquired with greater than +40MM offset, or vendors I could contact that have them.

Thanks,

Bill

No, but I would not run a Rota, ever!

Sounds like you had a bad experience...  Gets out of round easily?  Maybe you had one break?  Can you share why you feel this way?

Thanks,

Bill,

Are you using a 1" adapter to go from(Triumph bolt pattern) 4x4/12" bolt pattern to a 4x100mm bolt pattern?

This is what I used with the Rota RB wheels on my TR6. They seem to be working out fine without problems for me.

used 1" adapter with 17"x 7.5 +45 offset using 245.45.17 Yokohama S drive tires. They are 4x100mm.

Hope this helps you out?

In the front, yes.

I would do exactly the same thing, but that would result in a diameter of 25-5/8", which is nearly 3"more than the stock Spitfire tire, and even though I can make them fit under the body, they would cause the ride height to be 1.5" higher, and I'm afraid it would look like it was standng on tiptoe.  I could channel the body to lower it, or modify the frame to raise the axle, but I'd rather use 40 profile tires, which only raises the ride height 3/4", but I don't think I can mount 40 profile tires on a 7.5" rim.

It might fit on a 40 profile tire but the ride quality will be a hard ride. Have 40's on my wife's Maita and the ride is more rigid for sure on a 17"wheel. Iwould go to like Americas Tires and ask them to try that combo and see if it fits. They can order your RB wheels for you. They ordered them for me at a real good price.
