Cold air for a hot TD

Just acquired Dave Plumley's magnificent '53 TD/350, and at the same time discovered this terrific site. Looking for an air conditioner to squeeze in somewhere. Anybody have any experience with either a Chevy unit [to run off the 74 Corvette 350 that's now in the car], or an aftermarket source, or smaller sized compressors that would do the job?

Dave cooked up his own radiator with an electric fan instead of the OEM fanbelt fan, so there's some amount of space available for the compressor. My first thought would be a Corvette compressor, then route and fit and make myself crazy fitting up the exchanger. Any ideas?

My fantasy [well, the only one I'll admit to here], is to drive around in the heat of the summer top up and curtains deployed basking in the icy blast from the vents.

Can't help you with C/A for your TD but there are a number of folks with MGB's on this forum with A/C installed . Here's some links to get you started.
