Pry out slowly starting in the bottom corners.  Don't use the glass as a leverage point, or it will crack.  Use a a thin slice of wood under the prying tool against the metal windshield frame and try to slide your finger tips under the side against the glass as it lifts.  Even if your careful, the windshield may still break or the two layers of windshield may delaminate at the top corners.  All depends on the adhesive used.  Original windshields had a wire buried in the sealant that supposedly could be hooked up electrically and the resistance in the wires would heat the sealant making it easier to remove.  Never seen it work in real life.

But what a nifty idea.

Glass is already cracked. Likely not original glass,(race car/body in white). Just trying not to ruin trim or clips. Thanks, roverman.

If you ruin them give me a shout.  I have a pile of at least a dozen or so sets.  It's that bugger little filler strip at the top that always seems to go missing.

How about pushing sideways that "stradle clip", center/top of trim ? I'm still having trouble getting wiper nuts off.Cheers, roverman.

If it's there.  Most times it's gone on parts cars.

Had I only known the trim is set with RTV silicon ! I was expecting clips/ old school ? Once one end started to give, WD-40 type lube really helped losen the stainless. Used a winshield adhesive cutting tool,(worth weight in gold), to extract the glass. Now, where do I buy a polycarbonate windshield ?  Onward, roverman.
