Sorry David. There are a couple of LS1 MGBs already on the road.

Some of his statements over there are not accurate (or truthful).

"Fast Cars Inc. makes a nice bolt-in suspension upgrade, but I chose to stay away from it. First, it's expensive. It would also require me to stick with the MG bolt pattern, heavy parts and narrow track. I built a complete front suspension based on Miata parts instead. Took longer, but I'll end up with a better handling car"

Yeap, Two of the LS 1 MGB;s have our 4 link rear suspension. 3 MGB's are in the oven, one is a GT in San Antonio Texas.
There is also a LT1 with all Corvette front and rear suspension, I just visited Jim In San Diego, car is great,

May want to look at Jim Stabe's, LS/MGB roadster, in this forum. Mega project and all first rate.  roverman.

Here's another one............ironically with a Fast Cars front crossmember.

I'll have more pictures of the install on my website in a week or two.

Plus, LS MGB motor mounts will be available in the very near future :)

Minor correction - I'm using an LT1 not an LSx.

Jim,

Swapping in an LS engine would be very minor considering what you are doing.  ;)

Jim, thanks for correction. Good to hear from you. Art.

I would have done an LS1 except that when I bought the engine (2001) it would have cost me as much for the engine alone as it did for the LT1 with the 6 speed. Besides, I think the LT1 looks cleaner than the LS when you put injector covers on with some nice valve covers.

Pete,

That looks like it was meant to be there, and a nice compact top end, I suppose the headers are the trickiest bit.

Jim is doing a fantastic job on his LT1 MG!  Can't wait to see it on the road.  Great to see all the other fantastic looking British cars here! Really intended on stealing Jim's idea on my next build but didn't want to intrude on his creation.  Instead, went with the big is better theme.  Still a lot of work to do and the work that pays the bills is really intruding!  Haven't even touched it since Dec.

Bill,

I don't know if any one has mentioned, but your tires/wheels don't really fit....  ;)
