Hows everyone? Im here to say hi and eventually pick some of your brilliant brains...
So I was driving usual route to drop off my 6th grader & there it was sitting on the side of the road with the word FREE writen across the bonnet, stopped by and let them know I want it.
I brought home the next day it had been sitting in a make shift barn since 1978, and is really close to complete.
I am unsure of the year the owner will be sending me all papers by mail shortly.

One question now what is the easiest swap on one of these little things? I am a Nissan/Datsun guy so if this a good swap please let me know?
Pics will be posted tomorrow....

Hope to get as much help on this forum as I do on the Nissan sites

Welcome, Matt.

Just about everything has been swapped into a Bugeye with varying degree of success, right up to a Hemi.  Easiest swap into a Bugeye is a "big block" 1275 cc motor from a later Spridget.  Other popular swaps are Mazda 13Bs, Suzuki twin cams, Miata motors and there's even a Nissan here:  http://www.britishv8.org/Other/MarkWarner.htm  How crazy do you want to go?

I like the Ford Durotec 2.0L engine out of a Focus , it can be tuned to almost 200hp and if you want to spend a little you can get 300hp out of them easy. They only weigh about 200lb's and can be bought for 200 to 800 easy.

Shift comes out right about 4 inch back from stock, you can  mod the shifter linkage and get close to stock but for now this should do.

Dave,
Bonnet is cut a little different to tilt forward and not hit the body. Functional rear spoiler is clear Lexan so you can see what is behind you. Interior is Grey leather with Black suede trim and Black suede pipeing on seats and Black carpet trimed in Grey leather.
