I have a Stag with a Ford 302
Could anyone out there give me a link or advice on whether there is a water pump available for a 302 that has a shorter front section where the pulley is attached?
Looking for more room between the engin and the radiator
Thanks
Dan

Check the water pump for V8 Ford Explorers.  They had the shortest water pump.  Also short pump (although I'm not 100% sure it's the same as the explorer) on 94/95 Mustang 302's & also similar era Ford T-Birds.  They are all counter rotation versions if I recall.

Years ago when I was doing the research, a Weiand 8210 was the shortest I could find, for standard rotation. Don't know if that's still true or not.

Ford Racing M-8501-E351S water pump (V-belt drive, clockwise rotation) is the shortest there is:
EDIT: should have mentoned that the pilot dia is 3/4" so you would probably have to modify your W/P pulley.

thanks for the input Graham,
just looked on the ford racing site they have lots of cool stuff!  would have to change the pulley anyways.  They have some nice looking aluminum pulleys that would really dress up the engine as well.  Not cheep! but what the hay.
Life is too short to drive a boring car!
this forum is great
Thanks,
Dan

This Water pump is just what I need, outlet is on the left drivers side and it is clockwise rotation, and it will give me about 1.5 inches of extra room, If I tilt the radiator forward and use a Lincoln MK8 puller fan might have to add a filler/reservoir tank like 60s T-birds.
Maybe I'll actually get to document this build!  With cell phone cameras and Wi-Fi it has become so easy.
Went to a car show in Rye NH today saw a nice 67 Tiger!  Wow they sure squeezed that motor in
