Hi

I have a 69 Rover 3.5.
On one rocker cover there is a small block Chevy V8 PCV valve which goes to the vacuum on the carb.
On the other rocker cover there is an air filter which must be to allow filtered air into the block. On this bank is a baffle attached to the rockers. This baffle is NOT under the filter

At the back of the lifter gallery there is a small pipe which was hooked up to something at one time. Oil leaked out of it so I plugged it up.

I am noticing blow by coming from the rocker cover air filter. Basically I am curious why. It should be taking air in and I should not notice any oil blow by in this area? If in fact it is blowing oil out, how does the air get back into the block?

Bruce, you will have fumes escaping under throttle. Normally this is dealt with by venting that rocker to the air cleaner housing, with a suitable spark arrester. That way the fumes are recycled.

I got a passive evac system for my headers. It has one-way valves that exit into the collector putting negative pressure in the crankcase. Some say this doesn't work well. Some say it works great. Opinions?

Best used with open headers.
