Nix,

Yes it's a great book and I would recommend it to anyone contemplating building a performance Rover or Buick V8 it has a lot of information on the later 4.0 and 4.6 engines and explains the problems with the block cracking issues.

I second that!  I've got Hammill's book and David Hardcastle's "Tuning Rover V8 Engines" too, although I think Hammill's is the better of the two.  I also use Vizard's "How to Build & Modify Chevy Small-Block V8 Heads" and Rick Voegelin's "Engine Blueprinting" - both are very good.

Yeah,
I've been reading Hammil's book in parts on the net and it looks well worth it !

til now I have been using both Hardcastle's books.

also have Vizards book strangely enough.. which is more generally about V8's than Rovers.
