Hello new to forum,

My dad has a 71' stag with a small block conversion and it has been sitting in our driveway for about 10 years. I know I know that is a long time, but he stopped driving after repeatedly breaking spokes in his wheels and having to get them fixed. Frustration got the better of him, so he parked the car and has not touched it since.

Now that I'm older and see the potential in this car, I decided to do some research and came across this forum. I have looked through some of the posts and saw that a BMW rear and front assembly swap allows 5-lug wheels to be put on the car. But at almost $5000, its going to be impossible to convince him to do that.

My question is, is there anyway to get 5-lug wheels on the Stag without a BMW swap? Is there an adapter that allows for 5-lug wheels?

I really like the style of the wheels on http://www.monarch-stags.co.uk/, but they are all 5-lug.

Thanks in advance

I bet the 6 x 14" mgb Superlites might fit:

Give them a call, they might send you one wheel for a test fit.

72 Stag

I have seen adds on craigslist with some Datsun wheels stating that they would work on Stags.  I have a 72 I am just starting to reveve after sitting 5 yrs.  Spoke wheels with 1-2 spokes missing on each wheel.  I was wondering at what point they become undriveable??

There are original Alloy Stag Rims available from Rimmer Brothers out of the UK.
Reasonably priced.  They also carry Mini-Lite replicas for the Stag no 5 lug worries.
I got rid of my wires for alloys just because of the cost of maintaining wires.

You will have to swap the wheel studs.
The studs for the wire wheel adapters are too short to fit Alloys properly.
