Just curious to find out if anyone has a good solution for rust  the inside of the fuel filler tube on the MGB.  I have a '78 and I havn't been able to locate a new filler tube, so I had mine bead blasted and powder coated (outside tube only) but I'm not sure what to use to keep the inside of the tube from rusting, that is also resistant to gasoline.  Thanks

My suggestion would be electroless nickel plating. I chose that process for my EFI fuel rail, and I'm pleased with the results. The layer of nickel will adhere all through your tube, rather than mostly at the ends and along the outside because it's an auto-catalytic reaction and the chemical process is the same all throughout the plating tank. Regular anodic plating processes put a much thicker coating on the outside of the tube.

My local plating shop has a minimum order, and I think that's typical. You might want to wait until you have other parts to plate and do them all at the same time - because you'll probably end up paying a minimum fixed price for the whole shooting match. You can get a whole lot of small parts plated for the same price as just one part. If you decide to call around and talk to plating shops, make sure to ask them about your powder coating. I expect they'll want you to remove it.

Another alternative is Red coat liner they use in gas tanks. Radiator shops have it or you can buy online.

Thanks for the responses, since this needs to be put back soon sounds like the gas tank liner might be a good option for me.
