Nord Stern (Minnesota) branch of the PCA is holding their event at Road America when we are there. I have communicated with the event master recently and in the past and although as most clubs, they like to fill the event with their own cars first, I recieved some info that may be of interest to maybe one of us IF you have the right training AND car for their event:

You can check out the Nord Stern DE site found at http://www.nordstern.org/DE.asp.  Cost for the 2-day event is $290 for PCA members and $325 for non-members.

There are still openings when I last checked.  The Club does online registration through www.clubregistration.net <http://www.clubregistration.net> .

there are plenty of rules attached to getting in to drive this event that make about 95% of our drivers and 80% of our cars in their current build to qualify and it does cross over with our time... As far as it goes for me, I am going to stick to the VIP tour.

...unless I can get that training in before we go and borrow my brothers LS1 powered 924. Like thats going to happen!

Maybe one of you can convince your friends who are qualified to go and then come on over to OUR meet? :-)

Well, can I borrow it, then?  :-)

You'll have to ask him but I have already told him its got enough power that no one but he should drive it. Guess he can keep up with traffic. Hope that I can stay within 10 car lengths when I am done. Most of our projects would have a pretty tough time keeping up with a 2700 pound car like that with around a 400 BHP LS1.

BTW: He is going to be there, no doubts. I'll epoxy an MG or Healey symbol on the front when we get there. I know how much he despises that idea!

Went to a British car show 2 weeks ago and there was a Miata badged with Jag emblems - caught a few people by surprise until they clued in.

Funny. I placed an Austin Healey symbol on his car and took a picture once. He hated it and was kinda upset but that was about 10 years ago.

Most, yeah.

We have a few here that are pretty stout. Pete Mantell's MGB roadster has a 400hp 342ci stroker motor. Steve Carrick's Barney has been rear wheel dyno'd @323hp to the rear wheels & Barney only weighs 2200lbs. Les Schockey's TR6 runs a 500hp 408ci 351 Windsor.

Certainly more than my starter car has. I will be happy to drive it TOMORROW when the Fiero seats are bolted down.
