Now that the car is about to come back from paint, I'm making some room in the garage.  Don't know if anyone in the Houston are needs a Rotisserie, but if so, this one will go for approx cost of materials.  It's at the body shop right now & they're going to send me some better pics; for now, these are the best pics I have...  Price is $100 (industrial casters & worm drive were about 1/2 of that) and needs to be someone who can pick them up.  Way to heavy & bulky to ship.

This one shows how the back connects -- the horizontal bar bolts to the bumper bolt holes & the pipe goes into a larger pipe on the rear upright (not in this pic)


This shows the front.  Original pinch bolt design didn't work well so I modifed to use a winch worm drive.  This pic was an in progress pic during the mod.  The parts in the background are what connect to the front of the rotisserie & front of the car.  IT bolts on to the captive nuts in the bottom of the frame rails & there are about 5 or 6 holes spaced an inch or so apart to adjust up/down to get a reasonable balance.

Oh yeah, I also have an extra engine stand.  No pics of it but it's your typical 1000lb capacity stand.  Similar to this one.  $30 if anyone wants it.  Again, needs to be local.

Boy, I sure wished Texas were a whole lot closer to Vermont. The rotisserie would be sorely appreciated.

Yeah, they definitely come in handy.  Way easier to do dog leg, sill, etc. repairs as well as do modifications &/or prep for paint on the rotisserie.  This one is gone though.  I also had it posted on the MGBE site & someone there grabbed it pretty quickly.

Engine stand is still available if anyone wants it.

I just built a rotisserie almost the same but I just ued two engine stand like yours. I cut some angle iron welded it to the round pipe and use the old engine hoist to lift it in place. 2 hrs. and presto, $ 100.00 max. But what is that rear end under your MGB?
 I am converting MGA to Rover V-8 and thinking Miata? rear.

Art - sorry, i should have updated this -- the rotisserie sold a long time ago to a guy in Louisiana.

Steve - the rear end is a custom IRS based on a Nissan R200S differential.

about the IRS rear end. Are you planning to install it on the MGB?
If so, what mods have you done. I am not familiar with the Nissan R200S. Is this rear end up to take 200 HP ?
I am looking at the IRS from a Miata. Anyone done this ? It would make the rear end about 5 inches wider.
My rotissery is also made from 2 engine stands. Any input on replacing door sills and dog legs as I understand you must have done that on your "B".

Werner - it'd probably be better to post in the MG section of the board; you'll get replies form more people... but, in answer to your questions...

IRS - yes, it's in my MGB.  Nissan R200S is a common Nissan differential used in a lot of their cars -- example is the 240SX.  The 200 is the ring gear size in milimeters; it's just shy of 8" which is plenty for 200hp.  I just ran my car on the dyno & had 255hp & 287 ft/lbs of torque at the wheels.

I vaguely recall hearing about someone swapping miata running gear into an MG -- do a search using the "google" search box above... it searches the forum.

I didn't have to replace the sills on my car.  Best place to get info on that is by searching the MG Experience board.  Lots of info & pics there.
