The Allard Motor Company of south London built about 1900 cars. I bet you didn't realize it was that many!

By far, most Allards had Ford engines. I bet you think of Cadillac engines when you think of Allards, no?

Arguably the very most developed and sophisticated Allard model was the "GT Coupe", but it came too late and the company was out of money. Only two were ever built. Sydney Allard kept one for himself. I've just published a very detailed article about the other one. Here's the link:

I remember being at Limerock a few years ago for the historic races and seeing a row of 4 of these cars...all slightly but significantly different. It was quite a treat. You sure could tell the Caddy powered ones when they were on the track. Sounded like they were turning 3000 RPM the whole way around. Very low revving but fast.

The hemi-powered is very sweet.
