90's rover temperature sender thread form

Hello
I did a quick search but missed the info
The Rover temperature sender for the gage is located in the front of the intake.
I thought it was 3/8 BSSP as it has the sealing gasket
The sender turns out to be 18 TPI but isn't 3/8 NPT
What is this thread?

Lets see,

BSP (British Std Pipe) & BSTP (British Std Taper Pipe) thread have a 3/8-19

BSF (British Std Fine) thread has a 7/16 - 18

BSW ((British Std Whitworth) thread has a 5/16 - 18

UNC thread has a 3/8 - 16 and a 5/16-18

Take your pick....

To answer the original question, the sender thread is SAE (UNF) 5/8"-18.

i've found the temp sensor to be 5/8 UNF
The oil pressure sender is 1/2 UNF.

Adapters are available for the 5/8 UNF but i haven't found any for the 1/2 UNF.
I may have to make my own

Why would you need to make adapters for either one?
The std Rover sensor/senders should be the correct threads and fit the threads fine.

What engine and manifold do you have? e.g. 3.9 fuel injected, 3.5 4bbl, etc.

I was hoping to fit an oil pressure gauge in my TR7.
My TR7 water temp gauge doesn't work.
Sooo... I was looking into fitting a dual oil pressure, water temp gauge into the original water temp gauge location.
The dual gauges have a different thread on the sender units

A replacement TR7 water temp gauge should be easy to get. Go to the wedgeshop site and make a request

On my TR7 (it's a v8 now), I drilled and tapped the casting for the oil pump cover and screwed in a sender. This is the round aluminum cover that the oil light sender is attached to. It has three raised bosses. One for the oil pressure light sender, one for the mounting bolt and one that isn't used. That is the one I drilled and tapped. See pic below:

I then mounted a 2" ammeter and 2" oil pressure gauge into the headlight switch assembly.

This pic was my first attempt using a broken cover to see if it would work.
