Went for a drive today!

Pretty cold day, 27* and eventually warmed to 32. I was on the road for about 6 hours up and back and I stayed toasty warm with the soft top on the car. The new heater really does the job. I started out with the heat all the way up and less than half on the fan with the footwell vent and two dash vents open. By the time I got home I had cut down the heat to about half, closed the footwell vent and opened all the dash vents and pointed them to the rear to deal with the cold air leaking in the top, fan at about 1/3. That worked really well and pretty much eliminated the cold spots. The heat output and airflow was way more than adequate.

Sure beats the old OEM heater by a very wide margin.
