Adjustable pushrods

Seems like using adjustable pushrods would make life a lot easier than using the wire down the lifter, especially when changing heads or moving parts between blocks.

Real Steel (UK) have a set for $350 (ish).

Pretty sure I can get cheaper stateside? Any suggestions?

IMHO., I would spend those $'s on Volvo adjustable rockers/shafts/ stands.. Run 8k rpm. in my Huffaker GT-1, no problem.

I had a set of Real Steel adjustable pushrods. I was not 100 % convinced about their reliability especially with heavier springs. Never used them and sold them to a friend. He has run them in a std 3.9 engine without any issues.

I can't remember the thread size on the adjusters but it looked a bit small to my taste.

As for Volvo setup, finding a set in good condition may be difficult.

I have used Comp pushrods but you need to do a dummy build and use measuring pushrods to determine correct length.

Hey Art,
I know the Volvo rocker shaft is a larger dia than the rover; Did you machine the standard posts or make new? Did you use the outrigger supports on the volvo shafts?

Dave, you can order pushrods in just about any length in 0.050 increments. Some companies even do 0.025. So use an adjustable pushrod like this with light checker springs to determine the length you need and then order accordingly. The adjustable pushrods come in a few lengths so pick one that gets your current ones in about the middle of the range.
