Interesting conversion.
There's an inconsistency in the text. It says at the top that the donor was a P6B - which would be a shame (imo).
The rest of the text refers to a rusty TR7v8 conversion (which I'd be far less upset about).
Which was it?

Alan, the article text could probably have been clearer so I've revised it slightly.

I'm pretty sure what Graham meant is that the previous owner of the rusty TR7 got the V8 out of a Rover P6B. (Obviously the TR7 originally left the Triumph factory with a pretty unlovable 4-pot engine.) In other words, if anything, you should be upset with the TR7's previous owner, not with Graham. But who knows what condition the Rover P6B was in when the Triumph TR7's previous owner bought its engine!

I agree with you that a Rover P6B is a really neat car...

I'm sorry to say that I never saw the P6B the engine came out of. The guy who converted the TR7 and then didn't use it was, according to the man I bought the car off, an American who lived over here so you can't blame a Brit for the demise of the P6B.
You can certainly blame one for the demise of the TR7/8 conversion though - me.
It was a real shame that the guy who did the original conversion didn't use it or dry store it, because the body was totally beyond repair.
