Windshield lower seal

My "virus" project is changing the lower windshield seal. Windshield is out and I am "experimenting" using all the techniques found in the many articles and YouTube videos. What's the "best" technique? Does NAMBGR have an article in the archives of.the driver somewhere (I am a member)? Thanks!

Hey Don - the more you ask the more different answers you'll get.  Net is lots of dish soap & effort.  Ideally having 2 people helps so one can hold the frame rail while the other pushes/pulls the seal through, but I've done it by myself a couple of times so it can be done.  There's no easy way I've ever heard but if you have patience & pay attention to how the seal is moving, you'll get it done (I've done about 10 over the years).

Thanks, Rob! Do you pull the side frame off, or start where the two screws on the bottom are?

When I get done, I want to drive down with my wife and see your car - you do some great work!

I've only done it when replacing the glass, so had the frame apart.  I think it'd be harder with the frame assembled.  If you tried to start it at the screw cut aways, I think it'd have a tendency to pop out.

If Covid clears up enough such that the meet doesn't have to be rescheduled, I'll be in St Louis for this year's get together in June.  You ought to come too.  Not too far for you.

Done today! Thanks for all the suggestions! The biggest thing I learned was "don't tighten any windshield to car bolts until all are started."
