Cam timing with hydraulic tappets ?

Hello everybody,

Is it possible to accurately measure a rover V8 cam timing (IO IC EO EC, maximum lift, etc) knowing the fact that the engine is on hydraulic tappets ?

Are you trying to find the specification of your cam?

To measure the cam, one has to remove a lifter and put a measuring rod down the lifter bore. As you imply, one cannot measure with no pressure in the lifters.
