If your engine has been modified, the fitting of Webers is just the start of what can be a long and expensive journey, tuning and tweaking.
A journey much abbreviated on a rolling road, provided that the shop has all the jets etc, and the knowledge.

I've seen that downdraft intake, i feel it's to much for such a simple intake and no linkage or anything. I'm fine with used

Well, I dunno.
For a low-volume high quality item I think the price is good.

Depending where you are and what you want out of the engine, Webers can be a chore.  High bling factor, but setting them up so they really run cleanly with the right a/f ratios,  needs a good rolling road, one that can hold speed and load. Plus all the parts and the know-how. I recall a chap on the TR forum, was in the States, he reckons he spent over $2,000 on parts before he got his twin DCOEs working right. Mind you, he was setting them up on the road, would have been cheaper in the end to spend three hours on a rolling road.

Anyway, have you seen this site? All the known manifolds although perhaps not very up to date. It gets into carbs about half-way down the page. There is an ominous level of DIY, which should tell you something. I see one from British V8.

It may give you some specific names to search for. Assuming of course that sellers of used intakes know what they have.
A bit further down the page, see the write-up on SUs from someone who knows. The challenge there is finding the right needles.
There is a reason the 4bbl has become so ubiquitous, it's the tunability.

I have an Edelbrock 4bbl on my 215, on a JWR/Offenhauser dual port. But that's just a road car, and I have a good rolling road 30 miles away.

I have an Harcort aluminum downdraft intake manifold that will fit any 215 or rover engine. No linkages no carbs. Intake is new -never used for $500
Its the same unit D and D sells for $750

I bought the harcourt from alcoa7v8. Still looking for carbs, not in a hurry to get this intake on as of right now.
