Buick/Olds 215 Oil filter options

I installed a cheap Fram filter to get me by while I troubleshoot my engine. I want to change it out to a better filter. I had a carb issue and the carb was filling the crankcase with gas. I picked up a Napa filter today and it's quite a bit larger than the Fram I have. The added length is gonna make it way to close to my frame. The Fram filter (PH25) is about 3 3/4" tall. The Napa Filter (1049) is about 5" tall.

Are there any other filters you are running that will work? I have about 4.25" to work with for height.

I use a D&D V6 metric swivel oil filter base,  so my threads are different.  

These will work for stock Buick/Olds 215:

Purolator Pure One is PL20033 4.24",  Purolator L20033 height is 3.75".

That is a really common thread and I've sometimes just poked my finger in the filter to see how far it goes, then opened boxes and used the same test to find other filters with a matching thread. That way you can concentrate on the filter size and seal location, which are the things you are interested in anyway. Often a longer smaller diameter filter will fit where a larger one won't. I still use the stock GM filter mount. Some work better than others.

Thanks I will check that out. I have a base with a different angle and a remote base if needed. I just put a rebuild kits and the steel plate thing in not long ago and don't want to put it all apart again. I appreciate the help fellas!
