I need your help.

Who sells all steel Rover V8 cylinder head gaskets ?

I'm rebuilding my 3.5 Rover V8 and my engine builder (Bill Davidson) tells me that I really should replace my present 3.5 steel cylinder head gaskets.

I thought I could" re'use"  the same steel cylinder head gaskets  .... but after a close inspection, Bill feels that I better find 2 new steel cylinder head gaskets.

I'm running higher compression on this rebuild and certainly can't take any risks.  (Also... Bill Davidson knows what's best ... no doubt about it).

So ..... who makes ..... who sells all steel Rover 3.5 Rover V8  cylinder head gaskets ?

Your advice on a vendor will be very much appreciated.

keep them on the track.

Should be able to use the '61-'63 Buick 215 head gasket.

This is a racing engine. It deserves a better gasket. Cometic , MLS is available. NOT cheap, but definately up to the task. Different thicknesses, to tune desired compression and they're re-usable.  Good Luck, roverman.

Cometic?  The vintage guys are just using Payen gaskets & even reusing them.  Of course, they want a much thinner gasket. Might have to go with a bit thicker gasket & lose a smidge of compression if the thin steel gasket won't hold.

Thanks Art ..... Thanks Carl

I found some stock, all steel stainless head gaskets from Rovers North, but will look into both Cosmetic, MLS and Payen, too.

The early Original 3.5 block (SCCA required in GT2) needs the thinner steel head gaskets for more compression.

keep them on the track,
