Heater Valve

I bought this heater shut off valve and it does not work.  I tried both positions on the lever and in both cases the heater core gets hot in my TR6.  Can you guys recommend a make of valve that will not leak?  The picture I have posted is where the knob on the dash is pushed in so the hot water should be shut off from the heater core.  The issue is to find one that I do not have to re-engineer so it is off with the knob pushed in and on when the knob is pulled out.

Try one of the plastic ones. 4 seasons makes a nice universal.

Thanks Jim I just did a search and found the plastic one and also a metal one by the same manufacturer.

The one on my car is the same as the one above so I am not instilled with confidence that a plastic one by this manufacturer will work any better.

You can turn it and blow through it.

Try turning the valve around Byron.
Many heater valves won't seal when the water flow is backwards through them.
The other issue may be that the stops on the valve don't relate to the valves actual limits.
Often, the valves travel limits are dictated by the cable travel. You can check by looking through it and operating the lever.
Or simply blow through it as Jim suggested.
