1971 Triumph Stag

Here is my new 1971 Triumph Stag.  The engine is the original engine, but the original owner did the recommended upgrade to allow better flow to reduce heat.  The rest of the car is pretty much as he bought it from the showroom.  So far, I have only changed fluids, rebuilt the carbs, tune up, and fixed the clock.  Next up, front end struts and who knows what.  I had to do some rust and body work, then have it painted in what I feel should have been an original color option. ( It was not offered in this color.) This car has a quiet purr, and handles 90MPH with no issues.
I will replace the original radiator, with a new aluminum radiator, and add the front dual fans.  The AC will be charged and repaired if necessary once the summer hits.  
The car arrived with it's yellow paint, and some rust.  It's now a silver grey stunner.  (In my mind anyway.)

I agree with your assessment of the new paint.  Looks really sharp!

I have been driving this Stag for about a year now.  So far, one issue with the starter.  No overheating, and I have been stuck in some nasty traffic.  Really very happy with this car.   It's a blast.
 This has the original triumph engine.  The original owner had done some engine work done to reduce heating.  Bored openings to create better flow.   Too bad these cars weren't sorted out before they went on sale.  Or, hey, it's kind of fun having a strange car.

I had a 72 Stag that I restored back in 2004 ( my second restoration) that I painted a very similar color,. The metallic charcoal really does bring out the cars lines. I sold it in 2012, restored a 71 and sold it to the same guy that bought the 72 and I'm now on my fourth Stag! I've loved the Stag ever since it was first released.
