PB Blaster, Kroil or Liquid wrench under distributor hold down flange. Let set overnight and pry with a screwdriver under hold down flange. Corrosion between aluminum parts, almost seem welded. You did remove the hold down clamp and bolt?

what is a PB blaster? i have soaked it in Liquid wrench and there is no gap to fit anything to pry it off. i have read that some times the corrosion will make it really hard to get apart. altho leaving the clamp on is something i would do i didn't this time.

Tristan, Did you try turning it. Some times that works. PB Blaster is just another brand of penetrating oil.

Yeah, it's "creepy oil". Some are better than others and PB Blaster seems pretty good. I hate to even suggest it but if all else fails you may want to try a large pipe wrench on the head of the distributor. If you do, you might try wrapping a thick layer of the toughest tape you can find around it first to try and protect it from the teeth.

When I get a really stubborn piece like that or a badly rusted bolt. I generally haul out my trusty wax candle.
Heat the part up with a propane torch and touch the candle wax to the joint. The heat will melt the wax and draw it into the joint.
Stuff that won't let go any other way will usually free up amazingly well.
I learned this trick from an old marine mechanic long ago and have used it ever since.
If the distributor still won't let go, I think that you can remove the timing cover with the dist. still in it.
Then you have better options to get the two apart.
