Gents,
Before I screw it all up with scuff pads or my weed eater...

Without removing frame from glass, I'd like to brighten the windshield surround. I am replacing the seals around the outsides.... so "relpace" or "take to a metal polishing shop" is not in the cards.
Any quick tips? Trying like heck to beat deadline for Omaha.
Thanks
Don B.

You could do what I'm gonna do. Splatter bugs with it.  ;)

I believe the later ones have a clear coat. Might want to expend the time/enegy on something else on the list. at this point, I'm just scratching things off the list that I know I won't be able to do before Omaha.

If it is of the anodized type frames and the coating is no longer bright, use Easy Oven Off oven cleaner, it will strip the remainder of it off and leave it bare aluminum, then use an assortment of finer sand paper if need be to get the surface prepped, then mothers mag wheel polish till shiny and never dull wadding polish for detailing from time to time.

I gave mine a light sand with some 400 grit then shot it with silver wheel paint and couple coats of SEM clear coat. Looks new and the finish is durable.
