Has any of you have installed Todd's aluminum tank, considered welding a drain bung in the tank?   I note that on his original discussions about this tank on the MGE that he was contemplating putting a drain on the tank but left it out on the productions version.  I'm curious as to why - possibly knocking if off by dragging the tank when hitting a speed bump, leakage?

What would be the benefit?  If the pump is working you can pump the fuel out.  If it's not, you can use the access hole to replace the pump and it'd be easy to use the new pimp to pump out the fuel so you're not having to work with your hands down in the gas...  Now, modifying the trunk floor to provide access to the tank's access hole, that's a very good idea ;)

To drain out all the water we bought with the gasoline in Palestine.  ;)

It's going to be a bit tight in the engine compartment disconnecting hoses from the fuel etc.  With high pressure fuel lines I would just like to let them be.  Just thought it might be a bit easier to pop a drain plug and make sure I get it all the water out.

What water?  If you stay where it's hot enough, you never have to worry about water condensing in the tank ;).

Well , Maybe the "Stealth Hydrogen conversion" I purchased from JC Whitney actually works.  Mileage improved while I was in Palestine.   Ha.  :)      Could not pass this one up, just had to comment.     Purchased my fuel at a Chevron on south end of the loop .

We should have put that on Dan's minivan! Then maybe we wouldn't have had to replace the fuel filter in the parking lot. I forget where we bought our water,.. er, I mean "fuel".

To my simple mind, everything on a car that holds a significant amount of fluid should have a means to drain it, radiator, engine, transmission, differential. Since the fuel tank has the potential to hold the largest amount of fluid, it seems like it has the best reason for a drain. I put one in the tank I made.
