I have a 79 B with 3.9L V8, T5 camaro tranny, 23 tooth speedo adapter gear and original MGB speedometer cable and speedometer. I now have tranny fluid at the speedometer, leaking on my pants! Anyone know what seal I need to replace, where I get it? Thanks.

Ant trans shop should have what you need.

Hey Don,
Just a couple of things to check before you change the seal(s).
Is the trans vent working and clear? Pressure built up when the oil heats up can push it out everywhere.
Do the spirals on the speedo gear shaft and on the speedo cable rotate in the right direction? If they are turning backwards they make an incredibly effective pump that will overpower any seal ( just ask Suzuki and Volkswagen). I've seen speedos that look like aquariums on more than one occasion.
Cheers

Thanks, Fred - changed speedometer driven gear and housing ( with 2 new seals) - all is well now.
