Why not many TR3-6/Rover V8 cars?

Seems like a natural swap.  Is there a reason there are not many TR's done with this engine?

My take is that because the engine room is so much larger than the MGs then Ford or Chevy's fit just fine and offer more performance potential.

Over in the UK there isn't the incentive, as many of the cars have factory injected engines, and the power gain with a standard Rover V8 isn't that great. Also, the Custom Car crowd has never caught onto British roadsters, and classic car enthusiasts tend to be very conservative about modifications.
I've read of TR2/3 cars with the Daimler Dart hemi, but I don't know if any still exist.

In the US, as Bill says, you have other and better V8 engine options, although I would guess that a lot of them are heavier than the alloy Rover engine, which can't do much for weight distribution & handling.

There are two cars in the photo section on this site that have Buick V6 engines installed and those are very close to the V8 design, just a tad shorter. You should be able to get some good informaiton from those articles.

A Ford 302 with aluminium heads weighs about 35 pounds less than a TR6/GT6 engine, so weight distribution with this engine is not a problem in these cars.

i think the <font color=black>rover car parts</font> must be compatible with the engine and also i think its with the engine room, there are many online resources about it you can search it.
