The problem with oem, 13" wheels is very limited performance tire and brake choices. Yes you can buy "R" compound, but very pricey and NOT suitable for street. What then ? I'm converting a set of 4 on 130 mm. b.c. to 4 on 4" bc., "Rivieras" once popular on 914's and bugs. 15" dia x 5.5" wide with same 4" back spacing as JH wheel. This makes a 205-50 performance tire possible. Yea I know, Jensen Healey, who cares ?  Cheers, roverman.

Art, that's an interesting idea, are you changing the wheels or redrilling the hubs?  As far as larger wheels go, have you also looked at VTO wheels. Hap can drill those in the Midget and JH bolt pattern if you want and has three styles to choose from. I think their new Le Mans style would look great on the JH. http://64.27.130.204/?page_id=16

Thanks Bill, but I like to compare cost, maybe I'm cheep. Empi 8 spoke($75 each with caps/new),  will be my choice if I can make them 4 on 4" bc. JH hubs are too small to go larger. "Hemi Healey" will get the Team III wheels, as per David T's photoshop. Cheers, roverman.

Cheap is something I do understand, my nickname back in the street rod days was Lobucs because I built so many things myself instead of buying them already done.

I don't know if it helps but I think the original hubs came off the last generation of Vauxhall Viva/Magnum range of cars. Vauxhall being GM's UK brand.

Bill, I like that hemi, mine is just a lil' smaller.  roverman.

Art, Wheel adapters to VW bolt pattern is the answer.

Jim, thanks but "I" work for less than buying and ther'es the increase in scrub radius.  roverman.
