On Sunday Pete Mantell visited, he has been staying with his parents in Bexleyheath Kent which is only a few miles from me. Pete contacted me before he left the US to ask whether he could drop in to meet me and have a look at my car and I was pleased to extend an invitation.

The weather has been terrible for about a week and it was no better on Sunday but I got the car out, washed the dust off and about 10 minutes later Pete arrived, he was a bit llmited for time but we went for a quick drive to give him some idea how it drove and how quick it was .I don't normally take it out if it's pouring with rain. but i must admit I was surprised at how well it gripped with the fully sorted suspension and even with a heavy right foot it didn't even spin the tyres!.

Anyway we got back and Pete came in for coffee and a chat and we could have done with more time as there was so much to talk about, as it was he was late getting back for lunch.

Pete's a great guy and it was a pleasure to meet him.

Kevin Jackson.

ehmm well......some day Rick, some day.

Sorry Kevin, Rick invaded my mind with his toughts.

Yes, accent, well I think Pete has a problem then. If you can only partially understand him due to his American accent and we can only understand him some oft he time. That is a real problem for Pete.

Will give him a note pad, yes! that is the solution.   LOL :-)

BlownMGB-V8

Yer a fine one t'be talkin about an accent Bill. ;-)

mowog1

Bill with your "sexy accent"....I could run with SO MUCH with that comment....but will practice some uncharacteristic restraint.

Pete,

Glad to hear you made it home safely, and hope you have dried out, and yes it's still bloody raining, any one got any Ark plans for my next project.

Kevin.

Mr. T

Why is it so wet in England?

Mr. T

Because of all the Kings and Queens that reigned there.

Mr. T

Two Viking invaders are trudging up the beach in the pouring rain. One looks skywards and says, "So this is England. What's it like?" The other snarls, "Well, if you like the weather, you'll love the food."

Okay, I'll stop!

I had no idea that it was a difference in weather between Maryland and the UK  I can only imagine that the weather in the UK is better. Perhaps that is why the Vikins did not stay in Maryland  LOL

BlownMGB-V8

Probably the weather in Kamchatka is better than on the left coast also. Let's see, Maryland is at about 40* N latitude and GB is a little north of 50*. LA is at about 35* But then I don't suppose that would have anything to do with it. More likely the sun has just baked Bill's brain.

AAAAHHHH Kamchatka Russia which is closer to Alaska/Washington state than Russia. Very cold place. The Russians have a Sub base there and the so called fishing boats that used to spy on us (so they think) came from......Kamchatka.
Interesting place Jim. But I do not think the Vikins ever visited Kamchatka.

What were we talking about.......oh ..yes, weather, yes hot here in Ca. Santa Ana winds, hot and dry. That is why the Vikins never came here.

BlownMGB-V8

I'm not sure of your spelling Bill... Vik... Vic..odin? Maybe Rick could help.

Jim

Mr. T

The Vikings would have made the same comment if they had visited Maryland this year....FREAKIN RAIN!.....
and southeast U.S. had the worst drought in history last year - not any more.

BTW Kevin, I like that color on your car. I'm sure it looks even better in person. Several months ago I was waiting for some touch-up paint on my car to be mixed and starting perusing the color charts looking for something similar - surprisingly, Volvo actually has some really nice greens and colors in general.
