BlownMGB-V8

That seems sorted, back to our regularly scheduled program then.
The RM just came back from our annual BritishV8 meet, which this year was held in Lewisburg W.Va. where as usual it accounted for itself well and raised funds to continue operations as well as complete the A/C upgrade. I'll be posting a more detailed report in the Roadmaster build thread as that is our usual venue for B.A.D.A.S.S. meeting reports. Of particular note however was that with the able abilities of Max and several others we discovered that we can dramatically improve the power output simply by modifying the air cleaner housing to allow more air to get in. The difference in performance with the air cleaner on and with it removed was remarkable to say the least. That's pretty exciting news to all of us who were a bit underwhelmed with past dyno results.

The car is now scheduled and funded for completion of the A/C system, which will be done over the coming weeks. Some fine tuning of the ignition system as well, and new plug wires are in the works. It will also be getting an oil change reasonably soon, and we are contemplating the installation of a smaller brake master cylinder to give better access to the spark plugs and oil dipstick.

The GCBCC (Cincinnati) meet is coming up on the 9th of next month I believe and we'll try to get the car there. The Dayton meet is coming up soon as well and if someone would be so kind as to post the date that would help. That's a big show and we should do our best to attend.

TC (Thomas Canty),

Is this really the same person as TeamEvil? Why the new handle & negative attitude?  Please keep it  civil or your posts will be deleted.

"That seems sorted, back to our regularly scheduled program then. "

It certainly is, now be sure to let Carl in on the memo . . .

MGBV8

Sorted how?  Your last post was still quite derogatory.

Quotethe maroon one is an absurd parody of what a performance car could be.

I'm sure that the crowds gather for the WTF factor and leave with "Thank GOD that's not mine." on their lips.

This thread just needs more photos...

Jim agrees that it's now al sorted out. Bygones and all that.

The last line of my previous post read, "Agree to disagree is always the best option. I'm done posting on this one, you all too?" Yet you continue to bait the situation.

It's all over Carl, give it a rest. We're all just sitting back and enjoying more photos . . . and (HATE to now admit it) those little side "scoops" on the air cleaner actually DO have a genuine degree of coolness ! Not yet forgiving the air dam, but the close up photo is having an effect on my opinion of that ride.

It probably IS one of those cars that begs to be seen through close up photos or in person to fully appreciate the esthetics.

We all change our minds, I never used to like creamed spinach . . .

Jim & I were offering friendly advice.

The MG Roadmaster's origins:

A Riviera?

If so, that goes a long way towards explaining the styling of the air cleaner.

The Rivs always seemed to be ahead in the game.

Came on the1967 Buick GS & optional for other models that year.

Well spoken, Jim.

Amen.

And rest in peace, Lumberjack Bill.

I noticed the date, February 26, 2010, on the picture at Pete's when Bill was fabricating the rear fender flares.  We had a great time at your kitchen table that evening, Rick, as Bill reminisced to me several times after that.  We have to get his name on the car!

BlownMGB-V8

Yeah, I really meant to do that before the meet but ran out of time. Maybe a sticker to go to the side on the rear glass. How would you guys think we should word it? Something like, "In Memory of"?

Just thought I'd check in, been a long time since I've been on this wonderful forum.

Has anyone made plans to drive the RM to the Brit V8 meet in July 2018 in Dayton?

I'm always honored to have the pleasure of driving that one of a kind MGBGT, so let me know if a driver is needed.

Edith and I took the car out today to go to a local show and run around a bit. We didn't stay long but met some nice folks. They made it a point to ask us to sign in so we could be notified of their next meet. I thought that was nice of them.

Edith was impressed with the car. She didn't expect it to be nearly so civilized and was quite surprised and enjoyed the experience. Hooray! Guys, this is as close to a ringing endorsement by the fairer sex as it gets. We have achieved success.

Though we do need to complete the A/C. It's going to get warm.

Pete and I attended a Cars & Coffee event in Champaign yesterday.

Pete had three conversions there....it would have been great to have had the Roadmaster there as well.

BlownMGB-V8

You could do that. It'll need to have the A/C completed but that can be done anywhere and anywhen.

That's the idea Dan, now we need guys to step up and select a show they'd take the car to if they had it at the time. From that we can build a rotation for the car to get the maximum exposure for the project and also allow those who have contributed so much time to drive it and enjoy the fruits of their labors. If the car was in the KC area next September I'd see that it made the KC All British, and either the Brits in the Ozarks or the St. Louis shows if they fall on the same weekend or both if they don't, then pass the car on to someone else.

As for the Hot Rod Power Tour, looks like June 5th and 6th they'll be in the Missouri area, I could probably do a stint in that case.
