My V8 Rides

Well, the MG with V6 went to a new caretaker.  My body just hasn't the flexibility to crawl in, under, around and through the MG,  Can't quite let the hobby go, so have kept a  stock BGT.  The British V8 cars still appeal to me and the creature comforts of A/C. power steering, etc. were found in two Rover 3500S P6s.  Light weight body panels with the 3.5 L motor with mods including fast road cam and 4-Bbl carb on both checks most my boxes.  Comfortable distance cruisers and can surprise sporty cars in the twisties.

Over here in the UK, these cars have long been undervalued in all models from the 2000SC upwards.
Come to that, no Rover models are particularly sought after, although perhaps the P5b - the Prime Ministerial model - has had more of a following and is one of the models that periodically tempts me.

The P6 was real cutting edge for Rover, and yes its De Dion axle does give good handling. There are a few smart examples around, one here for instance with 34,000 miles and one owner at £15,000 / $20,000 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/313642343685

And edit to mention, just look at the pics of that car. A time capsule of the bits & bobs that keen owners hung on their cars back then... the badges, the fog and spot lights, the aerofoils on the wiper arms, the warning light on the door edge, the spare wheel on the boot. The salesman must have been happy.

On the whole though, they remain an underappreciated car.

And again, over here, they rust.
The P6, the P5, the P4, they all rust and because of their low value they tend not to get well repaired.
I guess in Napa you won't have that particular problem :}

I think the V8 Rovers are wonderful.

Lately, my interest in earlier Rovers has been stirred by the one featured in the new "All Creatures Great and Small" series on BBC.
