I am in the planning stages of my swap to a 215 as my personal goal is a period swap street racer. I have vintage ARE mag wheels from a former SCCA champion and want to retain stock hubs/suspension as well as Black Label OD box. Will this gear/pinion fit Salisbury rear end on my 71' MGB GT? The wording in the ad is tad ambiguous, if I understand correctly, machining is needed for Salisbury/Banjo, but is made as direct fit for MGBGTV8 axle?

Spencer, MG used the MGC diff in the MGV8. To fit the MGB diff you have to machine .215 off of the ring gear mounting surface. There are 3.07 gears made in Germany that bolt right up. You have to use tighter backlash setting or they will be noisy. .005 instead of .010.

ICBW but I think Basil sells a 3.7 that bolts straight in.
