All -

I know it's early, but just checking in for our October meetup.  Assuming it's still on for the first weekend in October.  Is there anything I need to do on this end?

Yup....first weekend of October is now ours again! Most of us have our reservations at the Tally Ho. Looking forward to seeing you all. Perhaps you and Jim Watson can coordinate again this year?

Since St. Louis had to be cancelled, Shelly and I are thinking about coming to Townsend.  My last day of work before retirement is Wed, Sept 30th so could be there by Friday afternoon.  What's between Gulfport, Mississippi and Birmingham, Alabama for 1st night stop?

MGBV8

1st night stop?    I drove straight thru coming home from Palestine.  :)

Well, there is Tuscaloosa before Birmingham.  Roll TIde!

Fort Payne is about 100 miles past Birmingham.  Home of the group, Alabama.  Last time I stayed there (many years ago) it was a dry county.

Drew and I did that on the return from Indy.  But no way it's happening with Mrs. Fic is my co-pilot!!

I went from Palestine to Pflugerville to visit my brother. When I left, I drove 23 hours home, stopping only for road food, fuel, and pee breaks. No sane man should attempt to do this with his wife in a small British car.

You are a brave man, Phil!  No one has accused you of being sane, that I know of.  ;)

Just looked at this thread for the first time in a while and thoroughly enjoyed the photos of the 2019 Gathering. So sorry we missed it but it was great to see so many familiar faces.  This year will be a miss as well but surely the border will be open in 2021.

Jim, if you guys need another pit-stop around Knoxville,  just let me know. If not, I'll see you Friday at Jim Watson's place.

Hey... if you haven't used the Glympse app before, you might want to check it out. It's great for hook-ups during drives, etc.

Check out "Glympse - Share GPS location"

I'm new to this site but have a question. How many cars will there be in Townsend ? I was at Dillard this past weekend and there were some nice cars

The Talley Ho had a couple of rooms available in our BV8 block, so I reserved one. Should be there Friday, early afternoon. See y'all then.

Kay and I are here now..the weather is great..and the Wi Fi actually works at the Talley Ho!!

Another great gathering!  Maybe a record turnout, even!  The weather could not have been better.

Sorry I didn't get to spend much time with y'all - grandkid duty took up a good bit of time.  But they loved seeing the cars - thanks to Phil and Rob for letting them "drive" their beasts in the parking lot.
