Rover Crank Triggger

Has anyone used the stock crank trigger for the MS3.
Does the flywheel have to be off the rover or can I adapt an different brand?
Have a 4.0 going in a Wedge body and have a lightened flywheel from the Wedge Shop

Lots of companies in U.K. make a setup to fit the front of the engine for MS.seem to recall the stock crank sensor is not compatible with MS, hence why the others are made.

Actually I have the trigger wheel, sensor already for the front
I thought instead of fiddling around with trying to make a braket it might be easier

Definitely won't be easier.  The Bosch-era 4.0L had the trigger wheel drilled into the flywheel or flex plate itself, with holes at about 1/4"-3/8" depth. Might be impossible to replicate on an already lightened flywheel.  The GEMS era engines had a separate trigger wheel with raised tines that bolted to the flywheel.  I bet that part would be your best path to success.  I do not know if the sensors were different, but if they are, I suspect the welded-in bracket for the sensor will make one style of block not compatible with the other style sensor (without welding, anyway).  Neither trigger pattern is compatible with EDIS controllers, if that matters.

Went back to the pulley version
