Hello, I am in dire need of help with my v8 swap. I have a rover 4 l with a buick 215 front cover, does anyone know what oil pan I will need to make everything work? Thanks!

You'll need an oil pan from a Buick 215, Buick 300, or an older 3.5L, 3.9L, or 4.2L Rover engine.

All the above are stamped steel, but some applications are "deeper" than others.  Pans from the Buick cars and early Rover SD1 have the lowest profile, while Land Rover pans hang lower but hold more oil.

I don't know the other details of your engine, but you likely will also need an oil pickup tube that matches whatever pan you find, and maybe a camshaft from one of those engines to drive your distributor on your 215 front cover.  There may also be an alignment issue for the V-belts, because the 4.0 and 4.6 engine cranks have a longer nose than the 215 and earlier Rover engines.

Drew, I can still help you out with the Buick pan.  Got tied up with work and forgot about you.  Still not sure if I have a pickup tube or not.  I'll look later today.

If not, use the pickup from a V6 Buick. 5/8" diameter tube.
