Hello Gearheads.

Have 1227730 from a '92 Camaro with "S" 8th letter in VIN# AZTY chip?

Will install Digital Speedo - do I need the VSS wires B9, B10 & B11?

Thanks

Norbert

I have a 2002 Camaro computer. To run a digital speedo , you do need the vss going to the back of the speedo for the pulses. I believe I had to drive a 2 mile range to set up the speedo too. I think I had to only used two wires. The vss only had two wires.

Hope this helps out!

Hi Norbert,
The short answer is no, you don't have to hook up the VSS wires. But it will run much better if you do. Particularly the transition on and off of idle.
B9 and B10 are the inputs from the sensor. B11 is the output to the speedo.
You might get away with the B11 output depending upon your speedo choice. The output is 4000 pulse per mile which some speedos can't deal with. You could wire up to the VSS sensor directly which operates at half the frequency if I remember correctly.
Tapping into the sensor shouldn't interfere with the information that the ECU needs.

Cheers
