Flock of tweety birds

I have a 1970 MGBGT with a 3.4 GM V6, and a T5 transmission.  I installed a McLeod hydraulic through out bearing, works fine but squeaks like a flock of little birds.  I used a stock GM clutch and pressure plate, and I am quite sure the clearance is correct on the bearing.  The only time it does not make a noise is when the clutch is depressed, otherwise it's driving me crazy.  Any ideas please.

A number of us use the McCleod HTOB. This is the first time that I have heard of that issue. Mine have been just fine for 15 years with a rare growl once in a blue moon.

Something is out of alignment Mark.
The center line of the pressure plate doesn't match the center line of the HTOB.
Because most HTOB's are of a constant engagement design they contact the pressure plate fingers all the time. When the center lines are off, the fingers rub and cause your noise.
You have to fix this as the HTOB will wear though the pressure plate fingers rather quickly.
I see this a lot and most of the time it's a bell housing dowel that has been missed or pushed into the block so far that it's ineffective.
If you are using an adapter of some sort that may be the problem as well.
