Swapping Chev and Ford gears on T5s

I have a Chev T5 with a good set of gears which are 295 first  and .63 overdrive. Can I swap them into a Ford T5  transmission casewith out too much touble . I'm pretty sure the input shaft is different so how does one get around that  problem and what else happens after that?. I want to put this Transmission behind a 2.3 Turbo Ford. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
