Ron Neal of South Carolina brought his MG SVS to the UML Summer Party in Grand Rapids, MI this past weekend.

What an AWESOME car...just shows what is possible when MG and Ford/Roush get together on a project!

When they closed Abington they leveled it.
Even the bricks from the factory buildings were sold as souvenirs!

The WIKI article points out that the MG assets were sold to multiple parties, so there's no coming back for MG.
I hate companies using iconic names to short-cut creating a brand.
No matter what they call it, it will never be a true MG.

I am also unimpressed with the styling, too much Ford Mustang/Muscle Car flares and a disappointing grill area.
Translate £ to $ and read the price to understand the rest of why so few sold.
For the price of ONE of these I could have a whole stable of genuine classic MG's, including a factory BGT and Twin-Cam.

Well Roush is a Ford guy.  They could have easily made it look like a Nissan or any other car.  I think most new cars today look the same.  There is no sense of style anymore in mass production cars.

I agree MG is dead.  However, if the marque is brought back it will bring attention to the older cars.  Mini has a surge in interest.  Now Fiat.  Why not MG?  It would increase the value of our cars, and get younger people interested in the marque.  Maybe we wouldn't have the parts guy asking MG? who makes that?

I like the styling.  And, wouldn't expect a modern MG to look or function like a B any more than a modern Jag resembles an e-type.  Time moves on.  No reason we can't like elements of both eras.
