So you just recycle the in car air for the aircon and get fresh air through the screen air vent?

Mine just gets cabin air too.  No different than a production car in recirc mode which we keep our cars on all the time around here anyway due to the humidity.  My fresh air vent is closed off too.  Works great.

Mine isn't finished yet but it will use cabin air as well.  My other cars are permanently set to recycle too
