Does anybody have a recommendation of where to buy or fabricate a center console for a 1960 Healey 3000 ? I would like to install a new DIN type stereo.

Welcome Donn - and nice ride.

If you have access to woodworking tools, you can fabricate one from wood and then cover it with leather or vinyl.  Also search on YouTube for videos created by "caraudiofabrication" and watch the one on making an amp enclosure.  That one shows how to use a simple wood frame, fleece, and fiberglass resin so make a shape with nice curves to it.

Don't know if this interests you and is what you're looking for in terms of a radio, but I'm running a Becker Europa II Stereo with attached amp.  I attached it to the bottom of the heater box with brackets.

You can see the amp indicated by the arrow:

It's got great sound and plenty of power and there are a number of conversions available that will allow you to hook up an MP3 player.  The radios are pretty plentiful as they were common in 70s Merceedes.

Yeah. Now I just need to reinstall my Heater.

If you strike out on the console, you might consider some of the other alternatives using an iPod to hide your system that are in this thread:  http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=243821&highlight=hidden+ipod

If you still have the tray under the dash on the passinger side that's where I put the radio back when.
