Everybody loves their baby so I make it a point not to make comments about the creativity of others and I can't see from the pictures what engineering it presents or what part of it is from a midget.  It does make me wonder however, just what else is out there we don't know about!

Actually, there were a few "Gatsby era" reproductions that used the Midget cowl, windshield, trunk and doors, including the Clenet, which sold for $85,000 in 1984:  http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2011/12/16/class-of-86-clenet-series-iii/  Another was the Panther Kallista.

I would have thought the Clenet a little large to use components from a Midget, but I can see the resemblance.  Not my taste, but I guess I learned something today.  Thanks Rick,

I guarantee  that the CLENET MKI used Midget tubs from the cowl back, I spent a few weeks working there in 78 and saw a truck
load of midget tubs stripped bare of running gear delivered to the factory, now the later versions were using VW front cowl/A pillars and custom stamped rear sheet metal as were the MKI  versions, these were stamped out by Experimetal in Detroit the
same folks who are stamping out the Dearborn deuce , the speed 33 and others.

Didn't people call the T series MGs "Midgets" back in their day?  The description refers to a 50's Midget.

Dan is correct. The T-Series are the original Midgets.  The windshield & doors on the car in that ad are not from a T-Series Midget, though.
