Fuel Sending unit

I was just pondering my electrical schematic and the following question popped into my head.  I'm using an MGB fuel tank with a MGB fuel quantity sending unit, but I have a Dolphin gauge (shark, without the fish logo).  I'm concerned that the sending unit resistance and the gauge won't match.  Is that going to be a problem, and if so, is there a device to put in line so the gauge will be accurate?

Same problem (different gauge maker though). I disassembled the MGB sender, did the same to the sender that matched the gauge, reassembled the B unit using the resistor from the gauge sender. My second time doing it this way. Was the same on the Cobra replica I had. That one used Dolphin gauges. Nice product BTW.

Both times, works just fine.

I just cut another plate which bolted to the new sender and bolted to the MGB tnak hole.

Thanks guys, looks like I do have to do something, so now I guess I have to decide which way I want to go.  Either way it doesn't seem too difficult.  The gauge on the t-bucket I had never worked worth a darn so I used a stick on it every time I passed a gas station; not so practicle on my GT

Paul, I did something similar to what Dave T. did with his fuel gauge.  I too used the Dolphin/Shark gauges and the tank sending unit that came with the gauges..  Photo attached.

Great idea Phil, I might just try that.   In fact I'm going to put a new tank from Moss on the GT and center it with all new hardware. Thanks a lot, knowing you guys have done it with success makes me feel a lot better.
